Check belts and hoses regularly to prevent engine problems

Belts and HosesEngine overheating can occur anytime, it is especially troublesome during summer temperatures. Checking belts and hoses regularly will help to prevent problems before they occur.

Components in your vehicle, such as the water pump and the power steering pump, rely on belts and hoses to sustain operation. Continuous exposure to heat, vibration, and harmful chemicals, can cause cracks and leaks; as a result, belts and hoses have the shortest life span compared with other parts in your vehicle.

Your NAPA AutoCare Center, Finish Line Auto Repair, carries a complete line of belts and hoses.  NAPA belts and hoses are built to go the distance, they resist cracking and wear, including V-Belts, fan belts, alternator belts, serpentine belts, ATV power drive belts.

Be prepared for July 4th travel

According to AAA, July 4th holiday weekend travel will increase almost 2% over last year, but the really good news is that higher gas prices are not expected to dampen travel spirits.

More than 8 in 10 travelers, 34.8 million, will travel by automobile, the highest level since the pre-recession holiday in 2007.

The auto club defines the Independence Day holiday travel period this year to be Wednesday, July 2, to Sunday, July 6, so drive careful and watch out for other drivers that may not be paying as close attention to road signs and road hazards.  And, be sure you have Finish Line Auto complete a full check over on your vehicle before you take off for your July 4th road trip!
